The only IP secured by Aptera Motors was related to the fatSO-1 design, now owned by Aptera USA. Producing anything based on the PP6.5 design or any of the other PP series designs is free open game to anyone that wants to clone them. Team B put a fair amount of effort into denigrating and destroying anything (i.e. body molds) that supported the PP series designs, including destroying test equipment used to prove the merits of the design.

The business world is not unlike the real world - that is - Mother Nature’s wildlife REAL world where the little fish get eaten by the bigger fish which in turn get eaten by the bigger fish which then get eaten by the "sharks". It can be a very nasty world out there with Mother Nature and business is not all that different. It really is the survival of the fittest. As an example I have a engineering friend that came up with a brilliant idea for tracking items in 3D space (this was 20 or so years ago). He patented it and also patented the technology for applications in the entertainment world, military applications and a couple of other areas. Well, after several years he made great progress in bringing real products to life and was even selling them in one business arena (I well know since I did a lot of design and prototyping work for him under contract). Well then one day a big shark came along and decided that it really liked the technology and wanted a piece of it for themselves for use in one of his patented uses of the technology. So they sued him on some frivolous bases. It was really ugly to watch because the company that wanted the technology for their particular use had lots of money and my friend was a startup with 12 employees. Well, the lawyers kept nibbling away at his patents for 2 whole years which kept him overly busy and costing him lots of money for his own lawyers refuting the frivolous demands until he called uncle. So in the end he lost 2 years of his time, money and precious brainpower that could have propelled him MUCH further along the road to success. Instead he managed to keep the one area of his patent which to this day he is making a living on BUT the "SHARK" ended up with what they wanted. Ethically and legally they were totally wrong but they did get it in the end. Quote:

By "Aptera" I think you mean Chris and by "Lithium Ion Battery" I think you mean "Flux Power" owned by Chris. Well, you might be right about earning more money building vehicles than just batteries. Well, you can ask him if that is true or not. He has a large manufacturing facility in Northeast corner of Louisiana with 200+ employees and he is building a number of different types of land vehicles (Oh yea, I almost forgot about his Epic Wake Boats he builds on the West coast). Go to: http://www.evepic.com/ The last time I talked to him a year or so ago he sounded pretty busy. So my young friend, I suggest that instead of asking so many questions I would suggest you first spend some time researching (surfing) the internet before you ask questions. Much of what I just told you I found out about sitting right here in front of my computer. Cheers, Dave Bowles |

I am sorry to hear about your friend. This is why I do not buy stock anymore after losing $1,000 in the Stock Market from General Motors. I just think that Chris and Steve want to focus right now on their companies. I hope that Aptera USA Inc. is able to build and sell the Aptera 2e to the public next year in 2013. Maybe there is someone out there with big bags of money that would like to help build the Aptera MK-O. Who knows? If everything works out, Chris could sell his Flux Power Battery Systems to Aptera USA Inc. to powered the Aptera 2e because no one knows the Aptera 2e in depth as Chris does. I have spent over a good year looking for answers to what was going to happened to the Aptera Idea. I like the Aptera Forum because I get a different point of view than just looking online. It is much easier to solve a problem when you can talk to different people with different points of view. I want to thank you and everyone else here at the Aptera Forum for teaching me a lot of new things. I will keep checking in every day or week or so to see how the progress with Aptera Motors Inc. idea is working out. I hope by Summer 2013, the Aptera 2e is for sale to the public. I will keep my fingers crossed. Good luck to everyone!

MK-0 ? Zap bought the fatSO-1... They're gonna clone it, if they ever actually do anything with the IP.

Oh Oh Ohhhh. Wow
Torq looks much nicer than the last version... the Jason Hill influence? Glad the upright Caddy headlights are gone... didn't really work with a low-slung vehicle. |
