Well, at least we are getting to see more about it more often during this around the US trip than we were before the X-Prize.
Better than the usual "nothing". Thanks for posting this Dave. Dave B |

Nothing really new. Two bits of info that are probably wrong: $25K (They have never broken from the 25K-40K mantra) and 1800 lbs. (The X-prize weighed the vehicle in at 2150ish lbs). PBW is probably happy for those errors though. Interesting that the 200 MPGe hasn't been mentioned yet. It's plastered on their truck but they haven't spoken the number out loud yet. I'll bet they signed a document saying they won't divulge the number until the results are posted by the X-prize committee.
Thanks for the post, Dave.

I agree. There has been more news about the car in the last two days then the last 6 months since it debuted at the Palomar airport. Xprize was a huge disappointment from a PR and information perspective. Aptera basically closed shop and their PR department for 6 months. Glad to see them out and about promoting the car, and I hope they continue all the way across the country.

Amazing how 2 good test drive articles has almost repaired several months of information starvation and frustration. ALMOST.

@1:20 they show ye olde sledge test on what appears to be a PP series door.
This has been bugging me since the California Meet and Greet, when the scene was: Here is a sample of the old construction and the new. Feel free to hit the old one with a hammer. Isn't the new construction awesome? Has anyone seen them conduct this test with the new composite formulation? |

Not that I am aware of. The situation you describe above seems to be handled till this day. I really wonder if this "new" material is just as tough.
