Hey guys, I'm not too sure if this has been brought up in the past. If it has, please excuse my lack of forum etiquette.
As most of us have heard, Aptera will be installed with an in-vehicle computer which incorporates nav as well as in-car entertainment controls. However, since most articles have been refering to it as a "computer" it makes me wonder how powerful this computer could be, and if powerful enough, whether or not the power an A.I. system could be considered a possibility.
I find it entirely possible for the folks over Aptera to upgrade the car's computer internals and create software within the current scheduled timeframe of '09. I realize that the this concept would require more powerful computer, and as such could be considered a viable option for Aptera.
With the introduction of A.I. into the Aptera it would take the company into a total different level of auto making. The A.I. could monitor and communicate the car's vital signs and even help people with their math homework. It could carry on a simple conversation, remember phone numbers and birthdays, provide some nutritional advice, help with relationship issues, give you some jokes and even secretly record a conversation you're having with someone. Plus it'd be nice to have someone to talk to if you get lonely.
If I understand correctly, this car is to come with bluetooth technology meaning that you could, in theory, have two Apteras communicate with each other and perhaps spread gossip about each of their respective drivers. Or maybe you could wirelessly transfer information that you stored through you're Aptera's A.I. into your friend's Aptera. There's no telling what kind of mods you can do with a system like this, the possibilities are endless.
