Question to those who are using this forum...should we now create a new category for the Aptera USA discussion?
Currently there are two main categories with several sub forums in each.
-Aptera Talk
-Other Topics
I'm suggesting leaving Aptera talk for historical purposes and I imagine that it will still be used for some discussions, but create a new category with all the same subforums called "Aptera USA Talk".

the thread titled "Zaptera" and "Santa Rosa said to be home for reborn Aptera electric roadster" and "Aptera to phoenix as Aptera USA, plans to deliver in 2013" could be the first three threads of this new category.

I think we should wait and see what happens -- if we see real actual new vehicles then we can make a new section.

I'm sort of torn as to this subject as well (the reason for the poll). The original company can sort of be seen as two companies as noted by the numerous references to Team A and Team B, but it was just one company, and now after bankruptcy there is truly a new company with Team C, rather than just a simple changing of the guard. (Steve might not refer to it as simple...haha). It might be easy to make the new section of the forum now, where there are relatively few threads about the "new Aptera". I suspect that there will be a lot more activity here again if we see some progress toward developing the vehicle for consumers. Again, it will be easier to keep these new company discussions separate from the old company if we do it now. Or perhaps there is really no need and we just keep them all together as one big Aptera discussion.

My thinking is that a new company owns the Aptera. There is a category for the late Aptera Motors so there should be a new one for Aptera USA

My personal feeling is, making a new category for new owners, is a reasonable request.

This does appear to be a new era for the Aptera so a new section seems like a good idea.

I agree with those suggesting a new section for Aptera USA. Let's give them a fresh start here as well without all the baggage of Team B.

I like the idea too since Aptera USA will be the future for this car. The web site will be up in weeks, reservation lists will be distrbuted, monthly newsletters will follow and shortly manufacturing will start. We at Aptera USA look forward to hearing your comments, but hopefully lets get rid of the rumors and the negative that was associated with the fact the company closed down. We hope the public will give the new development team the room to show its committment to this car. We welcome all your comments, after all this is a California designed car that will be owed by a US Company, creating local jobs, with cost savings due to the chinese manufacturing component. We look forward to hearing from you. Thanks Rick Deringer for Aptera USA, rderinger@apterausa.com Love to hear the great and productive stories about the history of this car by the Members of this group.

We at Aptera USA look forward to hearing your comments. Welcome to the Aptera Forum Mr. Deringer. The founders of Aptera Motors Inc. Steve Fambro, Chris Anthony and his wife worked very hard to make their dream of Aptera reality. Unfortunately, Aptera Board of Directors though they could make a lot of money quickly by kicking out the founders and bring in the Detroit Team. And the rest they say is history. It would mean the world to all of us here at the Aptera Forum if you could please get Steve, Chris and his wife each a seat on the Board of Directors of Aptera USA. They have a lot of advice, ideas, experience and etc. that would be invaluable to Aptera USA to help prevent the mistakes of the past and to grow the brand in the future. Thanks for listening.

I appreciate your comment and I agree that communicating with Steve, Chris and his wife will be a very important step for us to learn more about Aptera Motors, especially since we do not want to repeat the mistakes of the past. I will be talking to them shortly. However Aptera USA is a Company that will utilize the current Aptera vehicle as the first of many parts of this new Company. Expanding to other vehicles, charge stations and electric truck manufacturing are all planned future ventures for this new Company. Those running Aptera USA are experienced, well financed and freat fans and supporters of this vehicle. We have only been in business since April 15, 2012 and we are moving forward to start our manufacturing process as soon as humanly possible. The vehicle is in China and the molds will shortly be there as well. That is our focus. Jonway Group is a very large multi-functional electric and gas powered Company that we feel will assist in bringing this product to the market quickly. Our expansion goals will be disclosed shortly once we get our web site back on line and we start sending our our monthly news letters. Any discussion about who should aid in our quest, including adding Board Members, is just too premature. But utilizing these individuals in other ways is always possible and that is why I will be reaching ourt to many past parts of the puzzle that made up Aptera Motors. We will keep you informed of our progress through Apteraforum. In the mean time feel free to contact me at rderinger@apterausa.com or call me at 707-310-2291 Your comments are well received and appreciated.

Greetings Rick!
Nice to have you visit.
This forum has evolved over time, but there are still quite a few intelligent, experienced EV enthusiasts here. Think of us as a resource. Open a dialog. If you ask us questions, we will answer them sincerely (for the most part). But also please answer our questions. Respect is a two way street.
One of the many mistakes of the previous management team was thinking they could create multiple aliases here, post false rumors, discredit our high-credibility members, and generally try to discredit this forum as a whole. So far, by creating a membership and introducing yourself, you are off to a very good start. :)
By the way, don't mind if we call you and your team, "Team C". "Team A" has come to refer to the founders: Steve Fambro, Chris Anthony, and their team. "Team B" refers to the buffoons hired to make Aptera a high volume success. I think you know who I am talking about. So that makes you and your team, "Team C".
Good Luck to you and your team. Sincerely.

To rickyd.
Happy to be of help. I want to let you know that you have the full support of everyone here. It is a good feeling to see something you want come to fruition. I know it is too early to ask but I will just throw it out there. Please keep us posted about internship and job openings at Aptera USA Inc. We all want to help play our part in making the Aptera Dream Reality. FYI, Team B caused a lot of problems that help caused Aptera to go into Bankruptcy. I be very careful who I hired to avoid the mistakes of the past. You seem to have a good head on your shoulders. I wish you the best of luck! Thanks again!

16 for and 5 against as of now on the poll. I've not seen any of the 5 objectors put down any post explaining their position.

out of the 15 moderators there are only about 4 that are still active.

I agree we should have an Aptera USA section for the new owners. Unfortunately, I don't appear to have access to the frontend that allows someone to create newly named forums. I wouldn't know how to do it, anyways. Most of my efforts have been focused on SPAM mitigation and removal...
I did send a request to the Forum Admin, but it appears he's been gone since the middle of June, last year. *shrugs* :(

My 'No' vote is not an objection. It reflects my feeling of lack of necessity. The time-line and content of discussion are self-clarifying. A new line would still have comparative comments. But I repeat: no objection.
