Does anyone know if thought has been given to making the mods necessary to allow the Type 1H to use LNG rather than gasoline? With the range projected, this should be very feasible and even cleaner than the gas version.

I'd think that'd be a pretty extensive change, not just a "mod".

Well, maybe LNG would be a bit of trouble.
But, when you can go 800 miles on 5 gallons you could run on propane.
Just a keep couple of those 5 gal BBQ tanks in your garage and swap them out at the hardware store once a month!
Seems safer and less hassle than LNG.

I dont believe that the Aptera will use enough fuel to worry about converting. The cost of converstion is pretty high, and it would have to be a custom system for the Aptera. It usually only pays off if you are using a gas guzzling vehicle for business (delivery truck or van or something similar) and you are putting on a lot of miles.

You can get some information at cngchat.com they have a forum dedicated to conversion discussions. They have lots of good information regarding any questions you have.

And I would assume that just like the Prius, a conversion nullifies the warranty. This is a GREAT car, stop trying to mess with it! Obviously the creators already weighed the odds. And Dr Palmer is right, it's SO fuel efficient, it's best to leave well enough alone rather than messing with a less tried & true concept.

Better still, get the full EV! :-)
